This is NTE
NTE has been producing and delivering renewable energy for over 100 years — but we are much more than that. Every year, we get closer to our goal of ensuring that everyone living in Trøndelag has access to lightning-fast fiber broadband, and with over 220 electricians, we are the largest electrical services company in the region. Every day, more than 580 NTE employees go to work to fulfill our promise for the future: to make Trøndelag climate-neutral and digital.
NTE is owned by 19 municipalities in Trøndelag, and every year, millions of kroner go directly back to our owners. Local roots are a common thread in everything we do and stand for. We show this not only by being present across the entire county but also by helping to develop the communities we’re part of. For over 20 years, we’ve worked to provide all Trøndelag residents with world-class, lightning-fast fiber broadband — whether they live in the city or the countryside. It’s important to us that people can live and work wherever they want.
In recent years, we’ve also established significant operations outside Trøndelag, including ownership in Salten Kraftsamband (SKS) and the Kvitfjell and Raudfjell wind farms in Tromsø municipality.
We are also committed to helping create attractive local communities through close cooperation with culture and sports. In 2024, we invested 8 million kroner in sponsorships.
Our core business is organized into five business areas: Energi, Market, Telekom, Elektro, and Network. The parent company is Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk AS (NTE). In addition, we own 40% of the network company Tensio.
NTE Marked
NTE Market provides Trøndelag homes and businesses with services that make it possible to be part of the green shift. We know that future energy customers are different from those of the past. They want to use electricity more wisely - preferably in combination with self-production. This is about more than economics.
NTE has delivered renewable electricity to the residents of Trøndelag for several decades. But to reach our climate goals, we must use electricity smarter! There is great potential for energy saving and self-production through solar cells and geothermal energy. This also allows us to replace fossil energy sources.
NTE Energy
NTE Energy is a leading provider of competence services towards a fully electric and digital Trøndelag. We ensure sufficient access to renewable energy in the climate-neutral Trøndelag.
NTE has produced renewable energy for more than 100 years, mainly through hydropower. To reach our climate goals, large amounts of renewable energy are needed in society. With our power production, power management, and technology development, we at NTE take our share of the responsibility for a climate-neutral society. We operate and further develop 19 hydropower plants in Trøndelag and Nordland. We develop new hydropower, wind power, and offshore wind - all in a way that takes into account biodiversity and local interests.
NTE Telecom
NTE Telecom provides all residents of Trøndelag with access to world-class digital infrastructure. Access to fast internet has become as fundamental as access to electricity, water, and roads. NTE works to provide all residents of Trøndelag with access to world-class digital infrastructure, whether they live in the city or in the countryside.
This involves the expansion of fiber as well as the sale of fiber capacity and content. Last but certainly not least, we have our customer center and our network monitoring center. The latter ensures nearly 100 percent uptime on the network.

NTE Electrical
With our 243 installers and more than 25,000 customer visits annually, we are the largest electrical company in Trøndelag. We have 7 departments from Trondheim to Ytre Namdal, thus covering the county well geographically.
NTE Electrical is a total supplier of all types of electrical installations. We take on assignments in housing, agriculture, aquaculture, business, industry, the public sector, street lighting, and fiber. We design and build high-voltage systems as well as strong and weak current systems in commercial buildings and homes. For us, no job is too small, none too large.

Network
NTE owns 40% of the power grid company Tensio, which with its over 500 employees is responsible for developing, operating, and managing the power grid in large parts of Trøndelag. Tensio is subject to regulatory control by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), which sets regulatory and economic frameworks for the network business.
